Life Without Internet

by Equestriangradstudent

I haven’t had internet for almost two weeks now. At first I was a bit panicked, but then I realized that it really didn’t affect my life that much. I haven’t been able to update this blog, which I feel bad about, especially since I have HUGE EXCITING NEWS. But more about that later. My routine without internet wasn’t too different from my routine with internet. I was still able to check Facebook and my email on my phone, so the important things were covered (ha, ha, ha…I actually dislike being tied to social media stuff. A lot. But we use Facebook for work). In fact, after the first two days I didn’t even notice that anything was missing.

But it is nice to be back. I did quite miss sharing all of my frustrations here. A lot has happened in the last two weeks, but for now I’m going to ignore most of it. It’ll be material for later. I promise you’ll get to read about all the horrible happenings soon.

I am not going to the the Graduate Assistant here any longer. There was some drama surrounding the choice, which I will share soon, but for now I’ve got a month left here and then I’m off to new adventures.

The best part? I already have a job lined up. I’m going to be a working student at an event barn. Where I can ride outside and have proper gallop space. I can’t wait to get there!

Strangely enough, I’m finding that I’m sad to be leaving this place. Now, don’t misunderstand: I hate it here. Most of the things that go on here are stupid, petty and full of drama. There’s that small part of this place, though, that has grown on me. I’ve met some great people and learned a lot. So yes, I’ll admit that I am torn to be leaving. And, quite honestly, I had been looking forward to the summer here. Wednesdays off would have been fabulous!

I don’t know what the schedule will be like at my new job, but I’m preparing myself for long days with no time off. I’m hoping that won’t be the case, but I figure if I imagine the worst  then when I get there it’ll be great. Pessimistic? Maybe, but that’s human nature.

Well, here’s the end. I’ll hopefully be updating more often now that I have internet access again. Stay tuned for the conclusion of my exciting adventures as a GA!
